Our Heurigen menu will feature a variety of culinary specialties, including the famous “Apfelstrudel mit (oder ohne) Schlag”. 2022 Austrian Advent CelebrationAfter a long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, more than 70 guests joined us for our traditional Austrian-style Advent celebration at the Arts Club of Washington. It was good to see many of our long-standing members as well as many guests who were new to the AACS. The event featured both Advent and Christmas music by our beloved Alpine Singers under the leadership of Carol Traxler as well as Gluehwein, Weihnachtskekse (Christmas cookies), and other seasonal goodies. 2020 KaffeehausjauseIn conjunction the Austrian Cultural Forum of Washington, the AACS was once again graced by the world renowned musical talents of Dr. Stan Engebretson, accompanied by Mr. Luke Ratcliffe, Ms. Suzanne Karpov, and Mr. Daniel J. Smith, for our Kaffeehaus Jause at the Austrian Embassy. Along with welcoming remarks from the new Ambassador Mr. Martin Weiss, a full house enjoyed music and delicacies from Master Chef Wilhelm Jonach. 2019 St. Nikolaus and Advent CelebrationOur annual St. Nikolaus and Advent celebration was held once again at the Concord Club in downtown Washington, where members and friends were treated once again to an afternoon of singing, holiday delicacies, our silent auction for SOS Children's Villages, and of course a visit from St. Nikolaus himself. 2019 Viennese Christmas BallThe AACS proudly supported of one of the season's most prestigious events, taking place on December 6th, 2019, at the Perry Belmont House, The Viennese Christmas Ball! |
